Sheer Music are delighted to bring back Brighton’s other exponent of Chap Hop, Professor Elemental to Wiltshire, when he headlines The Victoria on Thursday 21st July, as a warm up to his appearance at Salisbury’s Sausage Festival.

The Professors music is a mixture of beats and sounds, layered over Hip Hop and realised through the voice of Rap. His previous outings in Wiltshire at St Mary’s Church & The Cellar Bar, both in Devizes, saw him preaching from a vicars stand and bouncing off the walls in a bear fighting pit. Both events left a mark on Devizes & its music heritage, and this will have the same impact too!

The Professor was quite a vocal supporter of the Remain campaign, and after the Leave vote came through, he rather hastily decided to retire fan favourite song “I’m British” from his live performances. This prompted fan campaigns to get The Prof’ to rework the lyrics to the song, which he obliged. This was only recorded yesterday, at studios in Brighton, which means we in Swindon will be one of the first audiences that get to hear this reworking of the song!

For anyone who went to Glastonbury, you may have inadvertently stumbled across one of 5 live performances he gave across the Festival, if not, you may be involved with the Steampunk world, which fell out over flame war, arguing over what is and what is not Steampunk music. You’ll be delighted to know that our Prof’ came through unscathed and is currently still regarded as Steampunk.

Nevertheless his fun quips with Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer have come about over their ownership of the title Chap Hop superstar, which has resulted in some marvellous live Chap-Offs (a much more cordial version of Rap Offs & an amazing video can be found HERE.) They are now firm friends and often host radio sessions together.

Finally, for those comic geeks of you out there, The Prof’ has a wonderful line in his own Comic Books (available in Devizes Books). Again, firmly in the Steampunk world, we’re now up to issue 5, you can find out more about this and much more below;

Cheap £10 advance tickets can be found at WeGotTickets, OR SeeTickets. Otherwise, they will be £12 on the door!
