Indie-punk trio Muncie Girls have revealed a new music video for ‘Social Side’, which is the latest single to be lifted from the band’s stunning debut album ‘From Caplan To Belsize’.
“We’ve played so many shows since our album came out in March,” says vocalist and bassist Lande Hekt. “It’s been amazing, exhausting and the most fun we’ve ever had! Some of it was caught on camera (including a bonfire we had to welcome in the autumn), so we thought we’d get this video together for Social Side.”
Muncie Girls’ debut album ‘From Caplan To Belsize’ was released earlier this year to critical acclaim and the band have had quite a 2016, playing to significant crowds at the likes of Glastonbury, Download Festival, Reading and Leeds, SWN, Groezrock and The Great Escape. They were nominated for a Kerrang! Award for Best British Newcomer, shortlisted for the Drowned In Sound Neptune Music Prize and have had their music played on the likes of BBC Radio 1, as well as appearing on German TV show Circus Halli Galli alongside Robbie Williams. Publications across the board have been glowing in their praise of the record and The A.V. Club recently named ‘From Caplan To Belsize’ in their Best Music of 2016 So Far, declaring “’Respect’ has one of the year’s best choruses”.
Muncie Girls’ debut album will be getting a second pressing courtesy of Specialist Subject and Uncle M Records; this is expected to be released before the end of 2016. Specialist Subject’s run will be limited to 500 on blue vinyl with 500 pink vinyl pressed by Uncle M. The band recently released a brand new demo titled ‘Five Miles’ to raise money for their beloved hometown venue The Cavern following a devastating fire.
