Sheer Music present… Moose Blood

Immediately following up our Gnarwolves gig in February with arguably the hottest property in the UK underground right now, Sheer Music are proud to bring Moose Blood to Swindon on Sunday 8th March.

MooseBloodNew

The latest Moose Blood tour sold out all over the country, and the signs are that this show is set to do well too. Check out the black and white, simple yet stylishly cool video to current single ‘I Hope You’re Missing Me‘ below…

It’s easy to see why they’ve been given the ’emo’ tag; it’s all lyrics, deep feelings, catchy hooks and good looks. They’ve been widely compared to early Taking Back Sunday, but through a British filter. Whatever, it’s memorable and very, very exciting.

Support for the show comes from TCOV ‘Ones To Watch in 2015‘ band Creeper – the Southampton punks making a name as one of the most exciting emerging bands in the UK right now. A Swindon headliner in their own right, the fact that we’ve managed to snare them on this tour means that we have a ridiculous night of hot new heroes of the UK underground right here in Swindon. Kieran of Sheer described Creeper as having an early Offspring vibe, we’d describe them as more Bouncing Souls meets Against Me!, with their clean melodic vocals laid over a fast punk sound. Whoever you’re into, come along and decide who they sound like for yourself. You can also grab their EP free from their Bandcamp.

Opening the night is one of Swindon’s rising stars With Ghosts. Having emerged onto the scene last year when opening for Gnarwolves, they have since recorded their debut EP and picked up a decent press company who will be ready to spread the band’s wings and push them out of Swindon at around the same time of the show. Be sure to catch their latest video drop by following them on social networks, and tune into BBC Introducing In The West and our show on Melksham Town Sound for exclusive previews of the new material.

Gnarwolves head back to Swindon

Well it’s official, TCOV favourites and hottest properties in UK punk Gnarwolves are heading back to Swindon on date 2 of a short UK tour!

gnar15

They wanted to come back, which makes perfect sense as last time they were here they nearly took the roof off the place. Heralded as heroes, they put in a fantastic show to a packed room and since then have gone on to release a debut album, tour all over Europe and play the main stage at Reading and Leeds. Standard. Exactly a week after they play Swindon they’re playing Osaka, Japan which sort of showcases the torpedoing upwards trajectory these lads are (still) on.

Their self-titled album featured on many end-of-year lists in 2014 (including ours!) and was the delivery of 3 EPs worth of promised talent. I hear they’re already working on new material too – the grind doesn’t stop.

Tickets are a steal at £7 and are available directly from The Vic, or at WeGotTickets (http://www.wegottickets.com/event/305623) and See Tickets (http://www.seetickets.com/event/gnarwolves-w-boxkite-as-the-sun-sleeps/the-vic/846831)

Check out the video below for Bottle To Bottle – it’s one of those awesome vids with live footage in, we love them we do.

Tour support is Plymouth punks Boxkite (Bandcamp) and local support comes from As The Sun Sleeps (Bandcamp)

Sheer Music & Songs Of Praise Present…. The Retrospective Soundtrack Players

Ending our 10th year of promoting with our bosom buddies Songs Of Praise in Swindon this year, we are proud to announce that the UK’s best concept folk-pop band THE RETROSPECTIVE SOUNDTRACK PLAYERS will be joining us at The Victoria in Swindon. The Portsmouth band have today released their 3rd full length album on Xtra Mile Recordings, and it’s a belter.

Support for this show comes from Bristol’s best aggro-acoustic masher OXYGEN THIEF, while Swindon’s longest serving (or so it seems) solo performer CHARLIE BATH heads up the local contingent. Finishing up the bill will be Si Hall’s new band COASTERS.

The Retrospective Soundtrack Players (TRSP) were previously called The Dawn Chorus, and enjoyed a big fan base in Swindon, often seen performing alongside Swindon prodigy Shaun Buswell.  TRSP write concept albums; their two previous releases 2012’s “Catcher In The Rye” and 2011’s “Cool Hand Luke” being based on a book and film respectively received wide and deserved critical acclaim. They release their 3rd album, “It’s A Wonderful Christmas Carol” today (24th November 2014) on red vinyl, DD and CD. The record takes influence from Dickens novel A Christmas Carol and the classic 1946 film, It’s A Wonderful Life.
